Special Requirements – This volunteer position may be subject to a background check or other requirements as mandated by the Town of Lyons.
*Managers work on a rotating basis, i.e. managers coordinate which week/deployments they will cover
- Obtain Work Orders from Work Order Manager
- Contact Work Order Owners to check availability on planned deployment date
- Prioritize and Categorize Work Orders and document in the ‘Deployment Spreadsheet’. Send out prior to each deployment
- Provide Work Orders to Foreman on day of deployment and instruct on Foreman Checklist
- Manage foreman during the deployment regarding any team needs. Help them get what they need (such as tools) and reassign to new work orders as needed
- Ability to visit and deliver tools to work-sites
- Provide completed Work Orders to the Work Order Manager
Expectations of Time*
- 4-20 hrs per week, depending on rotation
- Includes attending management meetings on Thursdays from (4-6 pm) and deployments on Wednesday OR Saturday mornings (8-10 am)
Skills Required
- Microsoft Excel skills for developing deployment spreadsheets
- Customer relations skills: personable phone presence, willingness to discuss projects with person requesting work
- Ability to identify project needs, such as; identify number of volunteers, tools, and time to complete work
Orientation
- On the job training with experienced staff
Location & Transportation
- Meetings are at Town Hall and Deployments are at Rogers Hall
- Construction Manager needs to provide their own transportation to deployment, meetings and job sites
Reporting Hours & Check-ins
- This position reports to the Lyons Volunteers Leadership or other designated staff
